A message from the late Air Chief Marshal Sir Lewis Hodges KCB.CBE.DSO.DFC (former Officer Commanding No.161 Squadron) was read out by Cadet Clare Hillier ATC

The Revd Barbara Ebeling conducted the Remembrance Service

Following the sounding of the Last Post and Reveille by bugler, Mark Stafferton
Mr Tom Croad laid a wreath in memory of his brother Sergeant G P Croad

Cadet Kim Coates laid a wreath in memory of the crew of Halifax LL 280

Mr Nigel Atkins laid a wreath in memory of his father Flight Lieutenant B. H. Atkins

Rebecca, Michael and Frances Layland laid a wreath in memory of their great-grandfather Flying Officer A.G. (Jack) Maskall

Cadet Alice Ward laid a wreath in memory of the crew of Hudson FK790

Lady Smith-Gordon laid a wreath in memory of her father Wing Commander W.R. Farley DFC

Mr Harold Watson laid a wreath on behalf of the 161 [1st Highland] Squadron ATC

Sergeant Tom Jackman laid a wreath on behalf of 22 [Sandy] Squadron ATC

Cadet Jason Filby laid the Flight Sergeant G.H. Williamson RAAF and Crew Poppy Cross

Mr Fred Lincoln laid a wreath on behalf of the Tempsford Veterans and Relatives

Wing Commander A. Anthony Smith DFC AFC laid the RAF Memorial Cross

Cadet Akeel Shaikh laid the Tempsford Cross.

The Revd Barbara Ebeling (Rector of Tempsford) led the prayers.

After the ceremony at the barn, many of the families and veterans repaired to the Wheatsheaf, Tempsford for an enjoyable lunch and wonderful tales. In the photo below, Mr & Mrs Tommy Thomas. Tommy, now back in good health, flew on Lysander missions out of Tempsford over occupied Europe, including the hazardous mail pick-up operations over France.
